Ingres painted Napoleon not as a man but as a deity. Seated on the imperial throne, draped in coronation robes, sceptre in one hand and the hand of justice in the other, he looks less like an emperor and more like a god of antiquity reborn. When it was exhibited at the 1806 Salon, critics found it too rigid, too archaic — and they were right. That was precisely the point.

The painting

Each case is printed to order, so please allow 2–4 business days for production. Shipping typically takes 3–7 business days within the EU and UK, and 5–10 business days to the US.

Returns

Since every case is printed specifically for your order, we can only accept returns for manufacturing defects or shipping damage. Contact us within 14 days of delivery with photos and we'll arrange a replacement or refund.
