A woman stands at a window reading a letter. The room is quiet. The light is cool and even. She is absorbed completely — and we cannot know what the letter says, which is exactly the point. Vermeer painted privacy and interiority better than anyone before or since, and this 1663 canvas, now in the Rijksmuseum, is one of his purest expressions of that gift: an ordinary moment made monumental by absolute attention.

The painting

Each case is printed to order, so please allow 2–4 business days for production. Shipping typically takes 3–7 business days within the EU and UK, and 5–10 business days to the US.

Returns

Since every case is printed specifically for your order, we can only accept returns for manufacturing defects or shipping damage. Contact us within 14 days of delivery with photos and we'll arrange a replacement or refund.

  2. Galaxy: open Settings → About phone. The model name is at the top.
  3. Come back, pick the generation, then the exact model. We'll remember it for the next painting.
